Fresh Sheet: September 27th, 2017

This week's Fresh Sheet is up!

Join us WEDNESDAY in the Terwillegar Recreation Center parking lot from 4-7:30 pm.

This week we are hosting our final visit of the Edmonton Food Bank's "Plant a Row, Grow a Row" program, which will be set up in the Community Tent.  They will be accepting donations of  non-perishable goods & fresh produce from the vendors, as well as any extra produce you have left from your garden.  Also, we are having a Thanksgiving Basket giveaway, with all proceeds going to the Edmonton Food Bank.  This awesome basket includes a Sunworks Farm turkey, bread, honey, preserves, vegetables, and so much more.  Get your entry slips at the Info Tent!

A reminder to all of our Sprouts: please bring any extra tokens you have been saving at home to the last markets so we can collect them for more kids to use next season!  This is also the time to remind you that this is the second last market of the year; Oct. 4th is our final market day.

Join us here on the Fresh Sheet every Tuesday to see what's fresh and happening at your favourite farmers' market! Remember, please leave Fido at home- no dogs are allowed where food is being served!

This week in the Community Tent we will have the Edmonton Food Bank "Plant a Row, Grow a Row" program.  Through the Plant a Row, Grow a Row project, a portion of your vegetables you grow in your garden can be conveniently donated to Edmonton’s Food Bank. How often is it that you can enjoy a favorite hobby and help others in your community at the same time? This project is a fun way to do both. It was initially started in Winnipeg in 1986 and came to Edmonton in 1998. Edmonton’s Food Bank sponsors this program in Edmonton and area, which invites local gardeners to grow an extra row of vegetables or earmark extra vegetables for donation to Edmonton’s Food Bank.
