Falling Leaves at the Market
As fall begins to turn to winter, this week is a great chance to stop by, get some exercise and shop around the warm fresh foods at the market. The market is full of cozy vendors; from food trucks to popcorn to baked goods we have the perfect recipe to heat up the chilly fall evening. The fallen leaves provide a great ambiance to eat, be social and have fun. With school back, the market provides a great escape to fill one day a week's dinner with fresh, healthy and local food for your family.
A reminder next week is our harvest week, where we are supporting the Edmonton Food Bank in the community tent. Remember to bring or buy fresh fruit and veggies for Edmonton's Food Bank.
U of A Fiber Research Group is in the community tent this week with information about a study for fiber in adults.
Dargatz Family Farm will be bringing their usual potatoes, tomatoes and potted plants and herbs, along with squash, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and leafy vegetables.
Holden Colony will be bringing their fresh field and greenhouse veggies, along with frozen chickens, preserves, and eggs.
Lactuca Urban Farm will be bringing their hyperlocal salad mix, along with arugula, parsley, dill, garlic, kale, squash, basil, beans, carrots, corn and fresh flowers.
Riverbend Gardens will be bringing fresh potatoes, carrots, beets, beans, dill, summer squash, onions, corn, and other field crops this week.
S4 Greenhouses always has the most delicious greenhouse vegetables, from lettuce, and tomatoes to mini cucumbers and fresh bell peppers.
Bo & Marrow will be joining us this week with their organic bone broth in a full line of flavours.
Cafe Bel-Air will be bringing fresh, handmade popsicles to market. All of Cafe Bel-Air's popsicles are free of gluten and tree nuts, and they have vegan options as well!
Crafty Cooks has a great line of take-home meals and will be sampling their Spicy Sausage Lentil and Turkey Wild Rice soups.
Cravings Gelato will be bringing their fantastic gelato, gelato pops and her new diabetic class of gelatos,
Jamaican Chefmon will be bringing their Jamaican condiments and appetizers to market this week.
Jerky Jerky will be on-site with their beef and pork jerkies in a variety of flavours.
Knosh will be here this week with your favourite U.K. comfort food including scones, pies and other treats.
Meniak Honey is back this week with fresh, local honey
Melodi's Kitchen is our favourite Turkish food vendor and will be bringing all of their popular dishes for you to try.
Michelle's Preserves is back this week with her delicious jams and pickled vegetables.
Mini Kitchen specializes in delicious Indian and Thai food.
Sweet & Spicy is back this week with their wide range of spices, sauces and condiments to make your next meal an exciting one!
Thai Sab Food Co. will be bringing her delicious Thai foods to market this week.
Theo's Greek Kouzina will be bringing their well-loved greek dips and treats to market this week.
Urban Pierogies will be joining us with their fresh pierogies made from simple and organic ingredients. They'll be sampling their vegan carrot cashew pierogies this week.
The Sprouts Program for kids continues! Children between 4-12 will receive a $2 token sponsored by Innovation Physical Therapy to spend with our fruit and vegetable vendors.

Steve & Dan's Fresh B.C. Fruit will have a variety of fresh B.C. fruits along with dehydrated apples and sparkling apple juice.
Effing Seafoods will be joining s this week with his fresh B.C. fish and shellfish.
Sunworks Organic Farm will be joining us with their humanely raised meats, sausages, and eggs.
Auntie Jean's Fudge will be at market with her handmade fudge.
Calico Baking Company will be back this week with their fresh sourdough, pastries, pretzel buns and other baked goods.
