Fresh Sheet: August 31, 2016

Help more Edmonton kids have fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables in their back-to-school lunches!

It's back to school week at SWEFM, and the market is full of great school snacks! While many of the kids we know go to school with full lunch bags and breakfast in their tummies, students across Edmonton go to class hungry every day. To help give back to the community during this expensive time for families, we're having our first Harvest Festival with the Edmonton Food Bank as part of their Plant a Row, Grow a Row Program. Bring fresh fruits and vegetables from your garden (or buy them from our vendors at market!) to donate to the Food Bank and help get fresh local food into more school lunch bags this week. Sprouts can also donate their fruits and vegetables this week!

Join us here on the Fresh Sheet every Tuesday to see what's fresh and happening at your favourite farmers' market! Remember, please leave Fido at home- no dogs are allowed where food is being served!
